I recently purchased a hot water canner, and some 250mL jars to do some small batch canning, and I'm finding it difficult to keep the jars from falling through the canning rack when I raise or lower them. If you've had and solved this problem, I'd love to know what you did! Thanks!

The easiest solution is to toss it (it will rust after a few uses anyway) and order one or more aluminum platforms used for pressure canners. Then just use your jar lifter to add/remove the jars. Much easier and safer also than trying to lift a full rack of jars out of the water and getting a face full of steam. http://www.canningpantry.com/all-american-parts.html Just make sure the diameter of the platform fits your size pot.
